Akkerdraai

3 Generations of family; originally the land was bought and developed by Babsie and Alwyn Van Heerden in 1956.

Alwyn & Babsie’s Daughter and Son-in-Law, Salie and Lisa de Swardt bought it over in 1999, whilst Alwyn & Babsie moved from the Main house to The Vineyard Cottage behind the main house.  Alwyn van Heerden Passed away in 1995 and Babsie passed away in 2019 at the age of 102!

After their Son-in-Law, Salie, sadly passed away in September 2022, Lisa moved to a Retirement Village close by and their son, Stephan and his wife Daphné, with their children, Simoné & Stephan de Swardt took ownership and management of Akkerdraai since January 2023 and remodeled the original home.
